hey all
i have a 2016 RG with nav, and the boom2 audio upgrade. has anyone successfully paired the galaxy s7 with their stereo? i can get it to work fairley decent via blue tooth but i cant seem to get it to work at all when plugged in through usb.
any thoughts?
are you wanting to use it like an iPOD whereas you plug in via usb and it plays your music? If so unplug your phone from everything including terminating Bluetooth connections.
1. go to settings of the phone
2. under SYSTEM section select about phone
3. scroll down til you find build number
4. tap it 7 times (as you tap you'll see the count decrease)
5. after 7th tap, developer mode will be active
6. go back one screen
7. back under SYSTEM section you will now see developer options
8. scroll down and find USB configuration
9. set it to audio source
10. back out of everything now.
11. now plug back into your USB port

Don't fool with anything in this section you don't fully understand as you can make a paperweight out of your phone in quick-fashion
it shouldn't BUT if it does, simply go back into developer options and change it back to "charging". If memory serves me correct when it's in audio source mode, it is also in charging mode.

developer mode will stay turned on unless you turn it off. If it ever gets turned off, simply do the 7 taps again to turn it back on so you can get back into it.
PS. I love my S7 Edge, bought my wife one too. Only caveat is finding a decent looking and quality case for these things. What a pain.
yup. we have the exact same phones. im using the no name case from the att store that has the kick stand. it doesnt offer a lot of protection but the kickstand allows you to hold it with one hand and operate the phone.

new Android build no longer needs developer mode, just pull down when hooked up to the USB cable and select the "USB Charging" and you will get a popup of options, use the "File Transfer" option and you should see your files on the head unit.
aaah, you know i have seen that now that you mention it!!
