Good evening, I am completely satisfied with the stock sound system on my 11 FLHTC. Radio reception was fine on my way to work a few days ago and then on the way home almost completely gone. 1 station comes in, another with some static and nothing from the others to include AM and WB. I get reception back on top of bridges. Checked the antena connection and it seems good. All the other functions such as clock and CD work fine. Any ideas where to look to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
put a cd in or plug an ipod into the aux.....
seriously tho receptions only as good as the signal being received. weather, traffic, interference, topography can all affect.
check connection at both ends. if its the stock whip antenna they are usually pretty good. usually better then the shorties just don't look as good.
odd that it would fine and then not on the same day.

Did you change anything at all on the bike? If not I would check to make sure the antenna is plugged all the way into the back of the radio. Then make sure the antenna is screwed to the post all the way. Then make sure that underneath the wire coming from the radio is still completely screwed onto the bracket. Lastly check to make sure the antenna wire had not been cut or nicked.

Thank you for the replies. I changed nothing. I thought it was weird, but from time to time radio stations go silent here. I was shocked when I had to run somewhere in my truck and all the same stations worked.
I guess I will start playing with the stock antenna today.
You'd assume one of the end connections came loose, but seems like you ruled that out. Cables are pretty flexible and usually don't go bad...especially on 6-yr-old bike. Might want to get a new cable & plug it onto both ends, before threading/securing all through bike, see if it fixes the problem. Good luck & keep us posted.
