I'm trying to set the gains on my arc moto 600.4 using a multi-meter.
I've watched the videos and read through the post, but I'm not getting results.
The amp is on, power connect light is green, I've turned the 6.5GT head unit up to 75%, I've disconnected the speaker wires from all 4 channels, but when I touch the positive and negative leads to the amp, the MM shows zero. I'm using the test tones from the DD iphone app.
If I connect the speakers back up, I can hear the test tones playing. And If I adjust the gains, I can tell it makes a difference.

What am I doing wrong?
This is my first time trying to do this.
Do you have your digital meter set to A/C current? If so, is it set in the right range value to read the voltage?
The list of silly crap I've done before: MM set to ACV and lowest scale if multiple scales available? Touching MM leads to amp output not input? MM turned on/tested against a known source? Filters to all pass or flat or whatever it's called on the 600.4? MM leads making solid contact with amp speaker output? If running bridged, connected to correct + and - terminal for bridged setup?
What is the volume of your phone set at. I wouldn't recommend using test tones from a iPhone because you're introducing yet another output variable with the phone volume. Can you burn the test tone onto a thumb drive and take it from there? Sounds to me like the one variable (phone) needs to be taken out of the equation
