It looks like nobody has answered your question about "will 6x9 fit in Harley lids". I have 6x9 speakers in Harley CVO lids ( 6x9 Biketronics HAT's ) but I have an 07 SG, so I'm Not sure about the 17's but I"m sure some one here with a newer bike will know and chime in!

http://www.thefactorymatch.com is an excellent source to get stuff painted to match. They have the hogtunes lids with or without speakers or you can call them and arrange other items. Recently I was pricing out a fender on their site and randomly tried 10OFF for a coupon code and it took 10% off my cart. I didn't place the order so not sure if they would honor it or not.
