Looking for some help/tips. I am installing some Speed By Design 8' lids and having a hard time getting them to latch easily. I added the gaskets which made it worse. In order to them to stay latched, I have to lock the bags.
Wondering if I need to maybe grind down the entire surface where it meets the top of lid or what.

Does the hinge rest easy in the tabs or hard to close? Sometimes bending them a bit up doesn't cut it. You have to move them out a bit and up. When I got mine nickel plated I had to readjust everything. Got them where they shut really good but were so tight I could barely open them They are finally about broken in now.

I damn near have to put my shoulder into it to get them to latch. It does seem the outside hinge is angled inwards more than with stock lids on.

if they are hard to close then the hinge is binding while moving into the tabs. That is where bending them out a bit will help. Then you can adjust them from there. Use a pair on needle nose and pull the tab towards you a bit and see if you gain better closure. Do each tab the same and small increments
