Just purchased an audio cord and tried to hook up my samsung S7 to it to play music and nothing?
Hook up the wife's iPhone to the cable and it works fine Why?

Bad plug on phone.
I have a few old iphones that I use for music only and a couple don't have functioning jacks.
Don't know anything about Samsung phones, is there something in your settings that will turn the jack off/on?

Check that the little rubber plug is not stopping it from going all the way in ... have 09 Streetglide that i plugged a new Samsung g8 in and it didn't work till I pulled the plug completely out of the way. I play Spotify thru mine , I believe as soon as a playlist starts it shows the av jack or possibly when the phone is even plugged in .
