Default 09 Streetglide fairing bracket
Opened up my 09 Streetglide fairing for new radio/speaker install and have a fairing bracket broke , guy helping says its a common problem and Harley's new updated bracket isn't much better . Thoughts -solutions ?

Most of them break. There are aftermarket options available, and I believe HD redesigned it as well however, more frequently anytime you're adding aftermarket speakers, they are in the way (at least the stock ones are) and end up being removed.

I'm sure he is talking about the upright/vertical brackets. Most fairings I open are also broken/cracked.

Vertical , going to take off and weld . Seems like HD could of have spent another $5.00 and did a better job .....

I'll find a pic, but you are better off replacing the upper with an L bracket and good hardware, but I agree, kinda chinsy....

Here are a million ideas, but a simple L bracket and a drill bit with some 1/4-20 hardware is a simple fix. Don't drill them in the fairing, speaker magnets like metal shavings....

I haven't seen a SG without a broken one, lol!

Thanks for the ideas , off to the hardware store !

cshocker ... I also have the rootbeer that each dealer got one of , should be worth an extra $3 grand at trade in time !

I was talking about the horizontal one. My fault. And ohhhhh crap. Cory, your bike just got a lot less special now that there's another root beer on the block! Values are going DOWN!!
