Default Best audio system for handle bar?

Hi guys!

As there are many options and I´m really lost about this, thought about asking you.

Would like to know if someone could help about the best sounding & more poweful system (watts) that I could purchase for a softail, Boom-style because the speakers would need to be placed in the handle bar..

Is the HD Boom system a good solution?
Are the shark shkHsp350 3" speakers + amp better instead?

This would be for my Nostalgia, but wouldn´t buy speakers if the sound get lost at cruise speeds..

Cheers & thanks in advance,

G.

Well I can say there isn't much out there to cgoose from. I can bet you won't get much positive response about the boom stuff just becauseb it is known to be overpriced and under quality. Did a little search and came up with this info, many are about handle bar controllers, but a few about speakers. Hope this helps.

Not many of those bar systems are worth a chit. I tried a couple and you couldn't hear them at speed. My best option before I had my bagger was always an Ipod in my pocket with earbuds.

Thanks for the info & links guys!
Reading the info, seems that these might sound "much better" than regular HD Boom system or they´re not worth it?

Good luck. I had a set of speaker mounts similar to the ones shown and they broke from the vibration in the first 6 weeks. That looks like the Cerwin Vega amp though which is a real good option.

Not trying to be a downer, just an opinion.

My brother pieced together a system using the Kenwood KAC M1824BT and 4 Kicker 4" speakers with the enclosures on his 2006 Dyna Wide Glide. His has 4 - 4" speakers and is plenty loud and with all the wiring and parts he is only in about $400-500. It doesn't have much bass but has more than any of the 3" speakers. The sound is better now that he has downloaded an EQ for the phone, he can adjust the sound pretty nicely now. He is very happy with the results.

Yep, those are the ones. He has some mounted on the handlebars and the crash bar. With just the 2 it sounded much better than my Kuryakyn Bullet 3" speakers I had on my VTX. These are on the large side though, mounting so that you don't hit the tank is a challenge but we found the sweet spot. Mounting inside the bars was impossible due to clearance but you may have more space than he did. If you just need 2 speakers you might opt for a different amp but that Kenwood comes with the controller which has proven to be a very good thing and you can always add 2 more later if you want.

Does your soft tail have engine guards or bars? Maybe another mounting location?

Thnx guys.. yeah, it´s the bike on my avatar... wouldn´t want to ruin the look if they´re soo big though.. hahaa.. :-)
Maybe trying out first with 2x, as you say.. About the lows, really curious about how much they can handle..
I imagine they´re worlds apart compared with the Booms.
