Default BT 4180 Issue?

So I've been running a BT 2180 and 7.1's for almost 6 years no with no issues.

Just installed the 4180 and rear speakers and parked and in the garage they sound awesome. I have a Sony Bluetooth receiver with all the bells and whistles as well.

I finally got to take her for a ride today and for some reason the head unit is acting like I have the automatic volume control turned on but this receiver doesn't have that feature. The volume was going up and down quite a bit with acceleration or deceleration. Going down the road I clicked on the settings and left it there and noticed that the settings would change from general to sound to BT, etc. Just like someone was turning the ****.

I'm 99% sure everything is wired correctly. Hard to screw up the BT wiring since it is all color coded.

I ran the power and ground under the trim piece with all the other wires under the gas tank and in fact, looks like a professional install!

Is the head unit going bad? Does the biketronics piece that lets you use the stock handle bar switches need to be adjusted for the new amp?

Thanks for the feedback on my gremlin stereo install.

Check all wires going to your hand control module from head unit. Sounds like problem might be there. Wiggled every wire one by one to rule them out and tap on module box.

Are you using the BT interface? It has the ability for AVC. It could be accidentally turned on.

Sound like the hand control interface went into default mode and needs to be reprogrammed

If you have the BT thumb control module.

Step 1 Left handlebar control button - Push in and hold for 10 seconds,
then release to enter programming mode.
Step 2 Left handlebar control button - Push up and release between 1
and 10 times. This step will time out after two seconds following
the last push.
10 pushes = highest gain, 1 push = lowest gain, 0 pushes = AVC off
If you do not push anything withing 2 seconds of release, the
module will read that as 0 pushes and will turn the AVC off.
Step 3 Allow 10 seconds for programming to reset.
Step 4 Test ride bike to verify AVC program. Volume should change with
speed.

Awesome...Mike from Biketronics just called me and asked if it was doing exactly what I described...

Push and hold the volume button in for 10-12 seconds to just turn off the AVC.

This is why I buy from the small guy....more expensive but I love great service.

Thank you sir...They just called me and told me the same thing. I forgot I did that 6 years ago during the initial install!
