Default Need your direction Audiophiles

Hello everyone! I wish I said I participated more on the forums but I read more than anything. That said I am stumped and I could use some direction. I am looking to keep my budget between $400 - $600. If I can go cheaper even better. I have a 17 RGS. I wasn't planning on the audio upgrade but after adding a free flowing exhaust and cams I am worried the audio sound is going to be dead when cruising now. I already upgraded my windshield to improve the sound and it was good enough for me to still hear my music at highway speeds with the stock exhaust. I think I need an audio upgrade. I will be sticking with 2 speakers as I don't want to lose room in my saddlebags and I cant afford new speaker lids this season as the funds went to the stage 2. I don't see myself going to 4 speakers in the next 2 years. I do end up riding in the rain a handful of times over the riding season here in Ohio so it must be water resistant. I have read a ton of posts but then when I research the equipment part of it is water resistant and the other half not at all. Any suggestions or ideal build set ups would be great. I seen a used Boom upgrade available in my range but one thing is for certain and that is almost every post around that subject says you can get better for much less. Audio gurus I am all ears and appreciate your time.

I run a fairing set up only in my 11 Limited and use the DD Audio AW6.5s and AT28 tweets. I run them off an Arc Moto 600.4 amp. I found that for a 2 speaker set up, they produce the results I am looking for today and then give a good base for me to build on when the time comes. I purchased my speakers and amp off the Audio classifieds at the top of this forum. In doing so I saved quite a bit of money. I found that in dealing with the people on this forum a good handful of guys buy the gear, try it out then upgrade with in a period of time. (Some quicker than others). The gear I got was still in excellent condition and as I said before cheaper than new and helped me stay with in a budget! When it comes to set up and knowledge the guys here are Second to none and are more than willing to talk shop!

Thank You for the reply. I think after reading everything I am going to go with the following unless anyone has a better idea for the same price range.

Cerwin Vega B52 Amp (Able to pick one up for $80)

Infinity Kappa 62.11 $96

BT355 Line Leveler $80

Wiring kit $45

Amp Mount $40

Total: $341

Thoughts?

It's fine for an entry level setup. Will get plenty loud and sound better than stock. It may fit between the headlight and the radio bracket, worst case you'll need an amp mount plate.
