I have finally decided that I am going with just fairing speakers and lowers. I am planning on purchasing the Soundstream PN4.1000D Picasso Nano to use with already installed Rokker 6.71 XXR speakers in my fairing and later to add a set of yet undetermined lowers. Would I need a line leveler for this system and what speakers would compliment the fairing ones? Does this even sound like a good idea any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
You will need a line leveler or 2 levelers depending on your install. If you plan on having the fade option flashed on your bike to fade the fairing and lowers then you will need 2 LL. If you plan on just running the fairing and the lowers parallel then 1 LL will do. I have never run lowers so I cant help with those but others will chime in.

I would check with the RG's guys first to see if that amp will fit in the 17. Never cracked open a 17 RG before so I'm not sure. It's very tight in a batwing on the 13 and down bikes. I do know some of the RG's have less space. Hopefully the RG guys will chime in.
For simple setup with fairing and lowers, I would go with 4 ohm speakers and run them off a Cerwin Vega b52 amp in parallel configuration.Thats what i run and plenty loud enough running 80 plus. Never tried installing that amp so no help there.

A 2 channel amp for four speakers would not be on my list of potential recommendations.
Nail down the budget a bit and the perfect 4 channel class d will begin to come into focus.
The ARC Moto is always a very good play for a 4 speaker setup requiring a small footprint for amp mount.
KW as the saying goes "theres more than one way to skin a cat", depends on your budget and end goal! if your dead set on keeping the Rocker's which are 2 ohm, I believe you will need a 4 channel amp. The SS 1000d is a good cheap option, but I don't know if it will fit 17 RG! The Arc, Focal, BT 4250, are all good options but all over $600. Running the CV B52 in parallel ( 250 rms a channel @2 0hm each speakers getting 130 rms) with MATCHING 4 ohm speakers is another good cheaper option..depends on $$$ and end goal..some guys just want decent sound at 70 mph, they're not chasing the Unicorn...lol!

I guess I should of added more info... I am thinking budget around $1500 for fairing, amp and lowers. I would like to have the fader option as well. Thought the SS amp would fit but if you know otherwise what other option is there. Would also like a plug and play if possible as audio not my forte. Another question. If I decide to add lowers at a later time would it hurt to have my unit flashed for 4 speakers while only using two? I guess I could purchase 4 ohm speakers all around if it would make it easier and maybe later down the road add them to TP pods..
Thanks again this place is awesome for great information
P.S. this was my last bike haven't gotten around to put in my latest
Does your HU have fade control now? It will display in the audio under treble bass control. If not then you will need to have your dealer flash the HU for an ultra/4channel/ no amps. You will also need 2 bt355 line levelers. 1 for the front and 1 for the rear. Donna at bike tronics can help you with that order. You will also need 2 sets of rca wires about a ft long or so.
