Default Newbie question

If after installing your new system using a DMM and the chart in the stickies. You find it should be more warm, can you take it down with the gains on the amps, or tuning with ARC PSM. Or maybe adding bass in saddlebags. Sorry if my question is weird, there is a big learning curve on this stuff and it will take a long time but I'm thinking I will enjoy this. This is a fantastic forum.
I have no experience with this stuff. I did install a sound system in my car over 20 years ago, and remember when I first turned it on I was underwhelmed but the tuning made a difference.

I have nothing installed yet. So far I have bought: DD AW6.5, MMats 601.4, DB WDX6.5, PRV 8MB600FT 8in 8ohm, Hogtunes speaker grills, Speaker brackets and line leveler from Biketronics, ARC PSM, Soundstream PN4 1000D, Focal FDP Sport. Also purchased Lowers and speaker pods and speaker grills from HD.
I know this is way too much stuff, and won't be using all this at any one time. But I tend to go crazy with my hobbies. I'd like to use the Arc psm but did get the line leveler in case I get lost with settings and to compare. My finish line is blurry, the only definite thing I intend to do is install 8 inch in bags pointed at the wheel. I don't cafe for speakers in lids. I have a chopped tour pack.
Thanks for any input, I have gotten so much information out of this forum.
Arnold

Also forgot to add: 2015 Street Glide Special with 6.5 boom. Chopped tour pack. Also DD AW 6.5 have A28 tweeters with x-over. And I'm looking at 6 speakers, two fairing, two lowers, and 8 inch in bags.

SG, looks like you have some great equipment assembled for your system! Using the Arc PSM you should be able to tune (E-Q) your system to sound exactly how you want it to sound. I would start with the AW's in the fairing, mount the 28's in the Hog Tune grills, using the Focal Sport in the fairing, you'll have to decide which speaker you want in your lowers, the MMats or the DB's! Are you planning on using the SS 1000d to run the 8's in your bags? You might be able to use a smaller 2 channel amp or a micro to do that, so it doesn't take up as much space as the SS. Good luck with your quest!

Thanks for the input. I need to start with the SS 1000d, DB 6.5, and 8" in the bags with Arc PSM as this is what I have had delivered to my home. I live in Canada so I had got the rest delivered to my son's place, he lives near Chicago. I was suposed to visit him in March, but I couldn't get away. April he is away so maybe May for the rest of that stuff. I'm sure I'll get an opportunity to use all that stuff at one point. Getting things delivered in the US and crossing the border with it is close to half the price for us.
I got the Soundstream amp because I thought it was more volatile for me, say I want to add horns or something later, I can use the tourpack for the SS amp. Storage is not an issue with me. I'm not looking to build a compatition system, just want to play with this and maybe learn a bit about this stuff. I enjoy working on the bike as much as riding.

SG, how are you going to mount the 8's in your bags? American Hard Bags has a system, but its expensive. Baby Boy (Rob) put subs in his bags and he used rings made by Yooperhog (Dale) so you could PM Dale and he could give you some pointers for that! Sounds like your on the right track!

Mounting the 8's will be my first task. I looked at the rings but the ones I saw were made of MDF and that can't take moisture at all. I intend on making rings out of plywood and fiberglass them. I got speaker grill dust proof cloth and intend to use camp dry on it. Still debating 1/2" holes or one big hole. Not sure this will work but it will be the first thing I try, I never ride in the rain but do get caught in showers.
I will check our your suggestions though, thanks
