Default Batwing Audio

Needing some help. I’m going from my ‘17 RGS to a still on the floor ‘16 limited. Makes sense to me given the M8 issues I’ve experienced with no HD fix in sight.

So I’m looking for new audio. I’m probably going to run the mmats 4100 amp that I have, using line levelers and the factory head unit for a while. What would y’all recommend to use for the fairing speakers and something that’ll drop into the tourpack pods as well? I keep seeing some folks referring to dismantling the front speaker pods and using some type of bracing from Biketronics. Is that necessary or recommended?

Thanks in advance.

So I'm thinking the Hertz MPX 165's or High Energy series or possibly the DB Drive 6.5's. Should I be looking at others as well? Will these fit into the pods or will I need to remove the pods? Also, what's out now and a good drop in for the tour pack pods?

My install buddy, who did most of the work was transferred, so I'm on my own for this one. Can y'all point to where I can find some detailed instructions on the amp install using the LL's and factory head unit?

Thanks.

the install should be very similar, plug the speaker out put wires that used to go to the speakers into the input on the LL, then the rca output on the LL to the rca inputs on the amp, paying attention to polarity and side to side (L and R). then new speaker wires from the amp to the speaks.
the BT brackets, while expensive, do allow for a larger selection of aftermarket speakers and free up room for other stuff under the fairing. my personal choice for your set up would be PRV neo's and DD b3 horns for the front and polk mm652 for the pods. wire the horns in parallel with the PRV's and start your crossover tuning around 90 hertz for the from with the high pass filter on the amp set to high pass. you can experiment on the crossover wit the rear between full and high pass if you keep the gains down untill you find something you like, but i would think that you'll still want to run highpass on and crossed at 80 hertz for the rear.
you will need the BT brackets to run the PRV's, the others you mentiioned will also work with the brackets, but i'm not sure on the pods, others have posted their results with that, if you use the search function, lots of info will come up on that.

Whats a good speaker that will work with the factory pods and a good drop in for the tour pack pods? I'll be running them from a mmats 4100. I was also given info that a line out gives better sound than the line leveler. Can someone explain this a little more please?
