Default PRV's in Upper Fairing Speaker Pods

Good Afternoon Men-

Just thought I would post about an install I did for a buddy. I asked a while back if a 6.5 PRV would fit in the stock pod, and Haze said they will with a little trimming. He was right as usual.

Used a cutting wheel on a dremel to take away some of the inner structure in the pod, then the sanding wheel on the dremel to clearance a little bit of the "boss" in the lower left section of the picture as you can see it. Speaker dropped right in no problem. Also bent the spade connectors just a little bit to clearance inside the pod. I used some "lathe" screws to attach the speaker to the pod, and it re-installed just as it came out. This was on an '18 model SG, and after the pod was out of the bike, it was actually easier than when I did these same speakers on my personal bike ('13 SG).

They evidently changed the upper fairing pods on the 17 and 18 batwings. That looks nothing like the 16 and down pod.

I didn’t see any big differences except the color of the plastic being black?

I’ve heard this bike. For a 2 speaker set-up, the bike rocks.
