I'd be more interested in hearing how Louie is tweaking his 6.5's
A PRV speaker sounds nothing like a Beyma. The PRVs to me sound like a megaphone. Highs loud as hell but lack on the mids. IMO, and I do not have alot of experience with them. I primarily deal with Hertz and Beyma. Tweaking a 6.5? Which ones? Fairing, Lids, our Tour packs? We set them up different for each application. Depends if its a 4/6 speaker system or 12?

They're both 6.5 PA's, they have their tonal differences and can be tuned differently, but they're not fair to debate them against other components like the Kappas/Polk's. The PRV and Beyma's are in their own category, that's all I'm saying. Would you see any point debating PRV and Beyma when they're both taking first place trophies? Like I said I'd rather talk shop than brands, far more fun/interesting.

You mentioned using 6.5's for different applications. When you look at a 6.5 what comes to mind? For exmaple, I see a 6.5 and think, okay this will be great in a lid but its going to need a lot of power to really create a spacious rear end (like wide *** sound). So I might decide to put two pairs of 6.5s in the back over a single 8. Then I need to think, how am I going to get the front 6.5's to blend right with the rear 6.5's to avoid sounding like its just music coming from all over the place and not a nice transition. Do you double up on power to the front or do you like to power the hell out of the rears?

I like Hertz 8's in the lids. I think the vocal range is stupid good. I could stick my face in them and be happy all day listening to Nora Jones. I don't feel the same way with 6.5's or even 6x9's.

It's probably way off the OP's topic but that's what I'm getting at. Guys wanna get to know the thought process. I don't think you'd shy away from it, that's just paranoia.

What i agreed with is the redundancy of debating the speaker brands. I was also agreeing with wanting to know the tuning characteristics of getting the perfectly balanced 6.5's.

Out of that whole post that's what you walk away with?

Again, it depends on how we are tuning and what we are tuning. Hertz? Beyma? Most of the time now we are using a DSP on systems with 6 or more speakers. I would guess most people on here do not want to mess with a DSP. When your ready to tune your setup shoot me a message. Maybe we can help you out.

What don’t you like about the 8.8”? Is there a better option for full range sound? I’m not picking, just trying to learn.
