Your logic is understandable, however, 8 ohm speakers *can* have a much cleaner sound at high volume than their 4 ohm counterparts. Forget about the watt nonsense.
While there is doubt about this whole thing let me shed some light on the credibility of this guy. Back in the day his business partner and I were on the competition audio scene. Scott ran Pioneer and I ran Orion. Scott set a devastating 181db record that stood for years before SounDigital took it. They know what they're doing on numbers alone. This is serious knowledge. You can just throw the biggest amps and speakers together and pull that off.
I'm not justifying anyone's comments. Just pointing out that team knows a thing or two about engineering systems.
For the record I did not order that stuff from Louie or his company.
Word!
Wait did you just make a comment about 8ohm vs. 4ohm. LOL.
So I won't dispute the 8 ohm vs 4 ohm thing, because honestly I don't know enough about it. I'm just trying to figure out why you'd use 1 amp for each speaker when you could probably get the same wattage to each by paralleling them down to 4 with one amp. Unless I'm totally misunderstanding this whole thing from the get go. I'm not here to bash anyone or question their credibility. I'm just trying to figure this out in my pea brain. This watts stuff may sound like nonsense, but it's not. Too little, you don't get the right sound. Too much, you don't get the right sound. Again, just trying to look at this from average joe perspective who doesn't have the means to drop over a grand on a fairing setup.
Haze I have no doubts about the mans knowledge or abilities. What I do question is the mans character. Arrogance has never boded well here. You know that as well as I do. Why would you come here to help if all your going to do is talk down to people and make them feel inferior to you? Before this thread started, myself and others had never heard of Louie. Hats off to the man for what he's accomplished but that doesn't make him a better man than me or anyone else here. IMO this forum is a place for audio enthusiasts to come to learn and expand their knowledge. Not to be looked down upon like we're not worthy.l

If you read from the top of this thread you will see that I didnt start off this way. I started on here willing to help whoever needed it. I am no better than anyone else on here, and dont look down on anybody. In the end though I am not going to let anyone else talk sh@t to me. I understand everything we do does not fit into everyones box, and thats great!! We learn something everyday.

Have a great 4th
Should have read I have no doubts about your knowledge or abilities.
As far as the **** talking goes I can't blame you for standing your ground. I will most definitely do the same. Words written on a screen often come across in an unintended manner and the shitstorm ensues. If you're truly here to help then I say welcome but if you're just here to stir the pot then stir the pot is what we'll do.
