For those that put in speaker cloth or frogskinz on the lids where did you install it? Outside of grille, or one of the Inside layers? Getting some water when caught in surprise storms lately so need to add it.
Harley lids with 6x9 adapter kit. Sealed around the kit on install. Pools around top of speaker and Drips from bottom of speaker itself n inside.
When I had 6x9 lids I put the cloth over the face of the speaker itself and compressed it in place as the mounting screws were tightened. My grills had a front drain port so it worked perfect but the main issue driving the best solution for you will be how the lids were designed to drain.
I don’t know that they are designed to drain and thinking through the speaker becomes the path of least resistance. After the Last two downpours I was opening the lids to drain out the side
I have covers. Sound through them sucks so bad I fade full front when they are on. Got caught by 2 surprise thunderstorms and couldn’t get them on before it was too late.. Need to figure out the drain thing and if I want to do the cloth thing.
