Ok so planning for the future and still very dumb with this audio stuff.
I have the SS pn4 520d amp in the fairing and very soon will have the infinity kappa 62ix in the fairings.
What are my best options for adding lid speakers with this combo? I've read that getting bass is tricky and I think its been stated that at highway speeds, most of that will be lost anyway, but still curious on what can be done. BTW, I listen to mostly rock, southern rock, 80's metal/hair bands, and some old school country.
Not sure of a total budget, as I realize I'll either need to cut my stock lids, or buy ones already cut. Like I said though, I'm trying to plan for the future and willing to wait and save to get what I need.
Tons of options. 6x9, 6.5", 8", 8.8" are all possible, even doubles of some. Most just go with hog tunes lids and some good 6x9, or you could use the Rockford kit and cut your lids so you dont have to paint. You will also need to upgrade to a bigger amp or add a second one for the lids.
I went with bad dad lids and Polk audio mmseries 6X9’s I’m very happy they are light with small magnets great for the lid function and bag space and they are super loud and clear, even have dam good bass with a good amp pushing them.
I guess I was looking for more specific speaker recommendations for the amp I already have. To add 6x9s to the lids. Good speakers with some good bass of possible.
