Amp and kappa speakers are due in tomorrow, the BT355 and amp install kit are due in Thursday. The fairing is off and left speaker pod is off and split.
1. Did you remove the HD speaker harness from the pod and wire the speaker directly from the amp?
2. Did you use a specific drill on the front pod?
Hey, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner just sitting down and checking this now.
1. Yes, remove the factory speaker harness and you will be wiring the speakers directly from the amp. Remove the factory HD speaker harness and the rubber grommet from the pod. Take a razor knife or other razor blade and cut into the grommet, half way down without cutting the stock wiring harness. Remove the factory harness from the grommet. Set the factory harness aside in a safe location should you ever need to reinstall the stock speakers and harness. Now when you run the speaker wire from the amp into the pod, you can tuck the new speaker wire into the grommet and then push the grommet back into the pod for water tightness.
2. I believe the Kappa 62ix screws measured out to around 0.11", so I used a 0.10" drill bit to still allow some plastic for the screws to bite into. I don't think it has to be this exact, but just be sure to drill the hole smaller than the diameter of the mounting hardware so the screws will have some plastic to bite into.
Let me know if you need any further help, I will keep an eye out just in case.
Brother, get a 4 channel amp that plays 150ish Watts and is 2 ohm stable. SS PN4 1000d is just one of several budget amps that won't tie ur hands to 2 ohm speakers.

Howdy - the amp is here...any recommendations for securing it to the stock amp tray? I can Velcro it...just not sure of the best way (orientation) or if any changes, like moving harness wires around, are necessary. Better yet, are there any links to pictures of it installed in a fairing?

I finally found a couple threads about how difficult it was to mount the amp - do any of you successful installers have pics or advice to offer? I would like to resolve this tomorrow because all of the items have arrived from amazon and biketronics, and I'm taking the day off to work on it. The bike is apart and ready.
I consider this a dumb *** move on my part - I ordered the part without fully researching it - I need your help to get this thing mounted.
Thanks. What is the J&M bracket that was mentioned?JABK-HBW14? Does it require less modification than the Harley tray? Are there any other budget 4ch amps that would fit on the Harley tray?
