Default Boom and Kappa question?

Have a friend who has a Boom stage one. He wants to put Kappa 62.IX in the front. Take out the Harley speakers. First question is this a upgrade? Can he do that? Is there a way to wire it without cutting up the Boom speaker adapters wire thing. There both 2 ohm so I believe it's doable. Just wondering if anyone every did that thanks.

Needs an amp or it's not worth the energy.

Better off to get a different amp. Look at the Cerwin Vega B52. I run this amp with the 62ix and BT355 line leveler with good results.

Not sure but he has some kind of amp. His system was upgraded once. Has speakers in the lids and premium speakers in the faring. Harley premium . Not "stock". Would that amp be ok? Or is the Cerwin Vega the way to go? Thanks

It's hard to make a recommendation with out knowing where he is starting, his budget, listening genre, and future plans.

My bad, I missed that he had saddlebag lid speakers as well. The CV B52 is a 2 channel amp so that is not a viable solution for his 4 speaker setup. The Harley Boom kit is a plug and play kit with their own wiring harnesses and connectors made specifically for the kit and the stock Harley harness. If he really wants to change components he really is better off removing the Boom system as a whole and selling. I am sure if you could get back to us with more information the good people here in the audio section could make recommendations.

Best way to describe this is he is a tech-no-tard. And lives 2.5 hours away. So I have to make it easy. To make matters worse he is reluctant to change everything because of what he has spent already. But he really wants a better system. When he is just sitting his stereo sounds good. But while riding he can't hear it. Lack of power. Since he is not an audiophile. I am going to push him toward an Aquadtics system. Is plug and play has Bluetooth and RCA cable capability. And build from there. Will post back when I am able to help him move forward. Thanks again.

You need to convince him that the boom kit he bought was a total waste, and he needs to give up on ALL of it. Maybe he can sell it if he removes the whole thing, then he can start over.
