New or used?
Would it be better to go with one of the better name amps being used or remanufactured or one of the budget amps off eBay like the cerwin vega? Just trying to do a decent budget system. I already have a pair of Kappa's installed.

Just my opinion, Forum Classifieds or refurbished JL or Rockford Fosgate T400X4 AD can be had on Fleabay for $280....In most cases Biketronic's will transfer warranty on their products, if you find one in the classifieds... Go 4 Channel even if your only running 2 channel, still get a 4 channel, you can bridge if you need the wattsbut the Kappa's are pretty efficient from what I have learned...but you will have the ability to expand with ditching your amp....

Be sure you are comparing 4ohm to 4 ohm power ratings or 2 vs 2, when amp shopping. Some amps make more power when under less resistance 2 ohm.....I believe your Kappas are 2 ohm speakers, but most speakers are 4 ohm.
