One thing to keep in mind is a brick and mortar store cannot charge mail order prices and stay in business. I worked in small businesses most of my life and once the Internet came around half the folks coming through the door would tell us how cheap they could order stuff online. They would act like we were trying to rip folks off but didn't consider we had several thousand dollars in building expenses to pay every month, vehicles to maintain, health insurance to pay, estimated quarterly taxes to pay, the list goes on and on. Online retailers often do not have a lot of those expenses so they can afford to have lower prices. Also local shops usually do not do the volume that online stores do, so that will drive their cost up a bit as well.
That estimate may give you some incentive to learn how to do things yourself if you are handy with tools. You will encounter some growing pains as you learn but the knowledge you accumulate will allow you to tweak the system to your liking as time goes by.
I am very much concidering this. I am pretty handy with tools. I can work with home electrical, but have not done much electronics work. I have learned a whole bunch just in the last few days. I also did as Xiviperi recommended and looked through all of these different guys set ups. I am surprised how un-clean cut all this sled audio stuff is lol. Fun challenge I guess.
Now is it accurate that I do not need to have it flashed if I utilize a dsi? Do I need line levelers with a dsi?

No flash or line levelers required when using a dsp.
I'd like to add my most recent learning. I bought a rockford dsp an dsr1. It does not compensate for the stock radio tune on its own. There is definitely difference between them all. The only one that claims to compensate for the stock eq curve from the head unit is the arc psm or a jl fix 86. The fix 86 is regarded as the best one around but it itself does not have tuning capabilities. It's meant to clean the head unit signal up only, then a dsp after that. The Arc is probably the best bang for the buck. Seeing their site talks exactly to 14 up Harley head units. The downside to it is the amount of channels it has(only 6).
From arc's site: The list of applications perfect for the PSM doesn’t stop at vehicles with 4 wheels! Have a 2014+ HD motorcycle? The PSM is your complete plug and play integration solution to your factory HD motorcycle with the ARC Audio Moto 600.4 amplifier. Complete with downloadable factory reversing audio tunes you can finally have a great sounding system without the effects of the factory audio system DSP tune.
All PSM's come pre-programmed counter tune for the 2016+HD Streetglide specifically for use with our MPAK 11 kit equipped with Moto Series speakers. Not running ARC series speakers? No problem. Simply hook up your Windows laptop and use the PSM to custom tailor your sound to your own personal listening style.
HD MOTORCYCLE APPLICATION TECHNICAL BULLETIN
If you ae planning on using the PSM on any 2014+ HD Motorcycle please note that the Factory HD radio has crossovers built into the factory HD radio which will limit the frequency response from your factory source below 100Hz. Much like any DSP or amplifier on the market the PSM can only reproduce and correct signals that are provided to it. As such the PSM cannot create specific frequencies and can only process frequencies of signal that are being provided to it from your source.
