The dsr1 is great for 8 channels, it allows setting crossover points with different slopes, levels on individual channels and has the parametric eq. But it does not automatically compensate for the HD factory eq without a custom tune from someone with more knowledge/equipment than me. I just ordered a fix86 hoping I can fit it in the fairing with the dsr1. They should be a great combo. Looking back I should have just got the arc psm in the 1st place.
I got my dsr1 from American Hard bag. They are suppose to have the custom tune available to fight hd eq settings, I reset mine and am working with them to try some of thier tunes. I have the hogworks lowers as well and they are great. I am swapping the hertz mille for 4 prv 6MR500-NDY-4, two dd vo d3 horns. Later on going with dd vo 6x9s and hertz st25 horns in bag lids. Gonna have a arc 600.4 amp for PRV's and mx 280.4 for tweets. Hoping this amp combo will have enough to power bags later but can see going with a 8 channel down the road. The dsr1 has some features that others don't but it is buggy and a poor choice imo. Doing it over would have gone with arc or the new dd dsi-2 but I don't know if the dsi-2 compensates for hd tune or not.
When correct for original shop error of listing 4 pair vs 2 pair of 6.5” speakers and backing out the $600, prices are pretty close. If you like the first shop more, for convenience or any other reason, they’d probably match or beat competitive price.
If he goes with the Rockford DSP I wonder if Rockford has their flash ready for the 2019 head units? Haze has tested that flash and gotten some really clean sound out of it. Basically it sets it at a real low level preamp output if I remember correctly with no EQ curve at all, so that would be a good feed it sounds like.

I don't think anyone has heard of the "other" shop. GBS is well known. I don't know that the posted set ups are ones I would necessarily want, but I don't know what the OP asked GBS for.
OP what is your end goal here? These seem like extreme set ups which is great, but is that what you are after? If I was dropping $4k or more I would want to hear these setups on a bike before I put my hard earned money down on any of them.

The quote is "installed" I can't imagine GBS would send a bike out the door without a full tune.
