I had to ground mine. Then I had trouble because I skipped the safety notice pages on the new phone. Finally went thru and acknowledged them, and then it worked. Also got BT pairing to work.
Now I need to find easy way to turn AA NAV on and off while riding, so its not a bother when I dont want it on.
Bear with me and my dumb/redundant question please.
i understand you have Sony ax5000 with android phone running Android Auto connected to USB1.
Also that when you select USB1 on the Sony HU, you get some message on the HU.
What does the message read?
I’ve seen several: nothing connected; connected device not supported; stop your vehicle; follow instructions on your phone.
Yes, AX5000, Android 8 connected to USB1.
When I open the AA app the phone tells me to stop moving and set the parking brake.
The HU also has an error message that's says to use AA stop your car and refer to the phones instructions.
From the point when HU refers to phone instructions, I think you want to select AA app icon on the phone. That also might tell you to stop the car. But there should then be some reference to safety information. (We have different phones and software versions but general thread should apply) I had to click continue or something similar and step through a few screens to get to an acknowledgment button. After I checked that, the AA screen finally appeared on HU.
I only get the error message when AA is set to auto open when connected. When I turn off auto connect nothing happens as far as error messages go on the phone or HU. There is no connection to the HU either. Just a quick blip of the AA icon and then it disappears.
Might try following, starting with bike switch and phone off.
Plug phone into USB1, with best and shortest cable you have.
Turn phone on and start AA.
When AA is running, turn on bike switch so HU is powered (no need to start the bike).
Select AA icon on HU if present, if icon not present, select USB1.
If this doesn’t work, what message is on HU screen?
Just installed the microbypass and no change. Tried a different USB with my phone and no change. Tried the wife's phone and no change.
It can't be a phone issue.
