ok, for you guys wanting something less expensive than a DSP, Mmats and a bunch of other companies make very small and slim 7 band eq's that are also line drivers and will do 4 channels, and some with a sub output. very economical and small and easy. the drawback is it's most likely gonna be difficult to make any adjustments on the fly, but for less than 100 bucks, they work pretty good. I used the Mmats MEQ-7 nd was very happy and it convincxed me that i needed a DSP to get to where i wanted to be.
all that being said, there is still no comparison between the 2 styles of units as the good qualtiy DSP's have the crossovers that the eq units dont, and if you are running PA speakers, you're gonna need it. I've used the DSR1, the ARC PSM and the DD Dsi-2, and currently have the DD installed. Of them all, i like the DD best, but I do not have the size limitations that some people so, If size is your thing, the Arc PSM is your ticket. I had too many connection issues and non adjustable configurations that I did not want to keep using the RF. I'm not saying it's a bad unit, I just didn't gell with it. The DD is my favorite so far, the tonal quality works for me and the adjusting is very easy, if you know your basics. If you can get good results with the PSM, you should have no issues working with the DD. Someone mentioned the line voltage adjustments with the DD. When I spoke with DD about that issue, they way i understood it was that the individual gain sliders were making that voltage adjustment, and the main gain was working in conjunction with it. I have not tested the line voltages as I've not found the need, but the ARC adjustments do make noticeable changes with the line voltage setup. I have had excellent results with the DD, i make my sound adjustments, then go back and check gain levels on the amps and go back and forth tweeking until i'm happy with the results, or figure out what i need to get to where i wan to be.
I've run all these units on the same bike, with up to 12 speakers in play with up to 3 amps at a time(horns included in the count, 4) 6.5's. 6x9's, 8's and 10's and different combos of the speakers.
hope that helps.
by the way, i do know a couple of local DD dealers.

I thought about those slim EQs but they take up more space than some DSPs. I tinkered with the DD software some today on my iPad and it does look pretty sweet. There's just no way I could fit that thing in my fairing. Also the extra cost for the Bluetooth and the extra space required for that stick it is mounted in turn me off. I'm starting to think I should have snagged a Stetsom when they were on Ebay last week for $120. I checked again last night and they were all gone.

Not a big rush though. I can live with it for now. The rears sound fine and the Motos aren't as bright now that I've finished putting in the sound dampening material in the fairing cap.

what is your fairing set up like? and what head unit are u using? the blue tooth dongle can be installed with a cable to allow better placement, instead of just stuck out the back. they also use a much sturdier, printer style usb cable, that i would just leave plugged in and routed under stuff and accessible without faring cap removal. got any pix, i bet there's a way to make it work.

Marco, do you think the DD would fit well in a Rushmore batwing with BT brackets on the clutch side?

Marco, I am running the stock head unit with a SS PN4.1000d, CB module, GPS power supply, two PAC SNI-1s, a level control for each set of inputs to the amp, and a PAC TR-4 low voltage trigger module. I actually had to cut out chunks of the sound deadening material to get the fairing cap back on. This pic here is before I added the level adjustment controls and their associated wiring:

That little hole to the left of the CB module is about all I have to work with.

that is where i would try to fit it to start with, after looking at your pix. the other thing to remember is that there is some room in the areas in front of the fork tubes, i had to get real creative once fitting my LC2i, if it wont finder under the radio, you might be abe to make a plate to fit it down low in front of the tube on one side or the other. I'm pretty sure that an ARC unit would still fit with no issue.

Thanks for the tip Marco. I have the wiring for the level controls in front of the fork tubes but it is definitely worth a second look.

I figured the ARC, Stetsom, or DSR1 would fit next to the CB if I ever got one of those.

Looking at your pic, i'd say a PSM will fit. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes.

The DD DSI-2 will fit on the clutch side it you are using the BT BRACKETS.
If you are not using the CB module it will fit in that location also.

The blue tape is the DSI-2 In the cb cubby with the BT BRACKETS while i was test fitting.
It may also fit in the same location if using the pods but may require a little trimming.

Thanks. I have my GZ micro in the CB cubby but still have the clutch side of the BT brackets clear.
