We also have to take into consideration of the old saying ALL WATTS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL.

Some amps have a brighter sound than others that may take more adjustment to get to the target sound one may be looking for.

As all the endless tuning details hopefully get beat up, I think Respect nailed it w the recommendation for folks to dive in on a cheap **** RTA tool, and hopefully that conversation ultimately ends up there. Hell, u can get some very cool tuning feedback from ur iPhone or Android. Go all in and get a mic from support apps from Audio Control, Studio 6, etc and it gets very damn detailed.

There r some general rules of thumb for this based on a bunch of circumstances including speaker size, thus whether right or wrong I'm guessing that personal preference seems to be the norm.

im just the opposite on my 6.5 on lp 12 and hp 6

i agree with that as well used one earlier in the year and it
showed why there was no need to cross my 8s at 50-60.

I'm gonna bet that a PRV rep would tell u to pump up the HP to 12 or even 18.

Can u expand on that please Rob? I'm not picking up what ur laying down. If the amp is brighter it's just part of the subtractive tune to ur liking right?

with a xover of 90 and a hp slope of 6 you are probably drifting into the 20s before cutoff. Check your plotter and it will give a idea of the pattern.

Im still learning here what do you mean by on the 20s. I would screenshot
my plotter but I don’t need to be ridiculed

by 20s I mean that the speaker is actually getting freqs in the 20hz range. Granted, they are reduced but still there.
The prv neo is rated at 90-13Khz with a recommended hpf of 220@24DB slope for full power. We know specs are not carved in stone and your not applying full power but you may be asking too much from that speaker. I’m not experienced enough to know the limits.
