Id go out on a limb and say ALOT of guys are running full range coax or components in fairing and PA speakers in their lowers, as it will give you a terrific blend of warm pleasant music and adequate volume at road speed

I will go out there with you on that limb just close to the trunk (I am fat and afraid of heights). If you have a solid fairing setup, a set of pa's in the lowers will give you that balance of good sound and IMO you don't need tweeters in the lowers as you will have enough in the fairing.
all my speakers are from the same brand, so i guess they match, but that was just luck of the draw after actually installing several different brands and models. i'd go out on that limb also as there can be a lot gained by specifically targeting what sound you get from what location and what you put there. oops, i forgot, they are not all the same brand, couldn't fit them in the tp pods. oh well i guess i'm in the mix and match pile also.

Did you tune the amp at all or did you just hook em up and try them?
The thing is, I don't really know jack about tuning them. I just watched the sticky video again and do have a Fluke meter. I can set the gain easily enough, but what do you recommend for that setting? 44.7 for 2 ohm and 63.2 for 4 ohm per the chart or is that tuned at 500 watts for each channel since it's a 1000 watt amp? I also am having a hard time setting the crossover on the amp and it's pretty hard to read without more numbers. I have a Kenwood head unit also if that helps. I played with the setting on the head unit for don't quite understand all that either. I'm willing to put the Sound Qubed back in the lowers and try to tune them again.

Only when your sitting still without your motor running in your garage. When wind is rushing past your ears at 80 mph and your pipes are screaming at 3000 rpm an addition set of tweeters aimed in the right direction ads tremendously to the volume and SQ of your front sound stage. Ive tried it both ways. There is no comparison.
