hi, im looking to upgrade the stereo on my new 2018 road glide standard. just looking for the fairing 2 speaker set up .have considered the "plug and play" rockford and similar products. budget of around 600.00. not afraid of piecing a sysyem together, but really dont want to cut into harness if possible for warranty reason. NOT looking to set off a firestorm of opinions or arguments here , just friendly advise on components that i can consider for this upgrade. ANY advise would be appreciated. , thanks

listen to mostly classic rock, heavy metal. majority of riding back roads, wear a skid lid helmet, like my music loud but clear.
You will need a BT355 Line leveler $85.00.
That will leave you just over 500 for amp and speakers.
If staying 2 speakers.
Look at the Cerwin Vega B52 (budget amp) normally around 130-150 on amazon
MMats just came out with a Pro Audio Coax with good numbers 109 each (I have not run these speaker but have run their regular pro audio)
Then you will need a amp install kit 20-30 bucks
Thanks, also I'm willing to spend more for a quality set up probably around 800.00 max .
With those speaker I mention again I have not heard that model. But my regular 601.4 had great vocals and decent lower tones for a 6.5. I did have a separate Horn for highs. But this is a nice looking coax.
a little more $ and a JL Amp would make those speakers sound even better.
BT355 - $80
Wiring - $50
Stinger SPX700/4 amp - $250
Got some Crescendo coax for $90 and some kickers for TP for $60
If you're just doing fairing, Id look at a better fairing coax or component setup. There is a thread somewhere for fitment in Rushmore road glide pods. I originally tried using infinity Kappa 62ix and the frame surround was too thick and grille wouldn't pop back on right, so I went to Crescendo.
You may look at the Mmats new coax. I've heard good things about them as well.
All in all, $600 is very achievable for a modest upgrade over stock and will please your ears at most speeds.

I would stay away from "plug and play" systems. You will not have to cut into any harnesses to add an amp and speakers. FYI
The help I will offer comes from experience. DO NOT waste money on a 2 channel amp. Yes, yes, I know. "I only want a fairing set up, blah, blah" LOL. At some point you will be back on here asking about a 4 channel because youre adding lowers, lids, etc. You have been warned lol.
