I put power tomine this afternoon. Having an issue with my fairing speakers that’s going to take a little chasing. When I first installed the gz’s, the right one had a very light crackle you could hear on certain notes. Not distortion at all, just a noise that shouldn’t have been there. Checked everything 3 times, all I could come up with was having everything in the fairing at that point, my maint power wire coming in was right by that speaker and there was no way around it.

Now moving everything to the back, there is no interference anywhere in the wiring, all separated as much as humanly possible except at the amp where the wiring is all on the same set of terminals. Now the crackling is in both speakers. Only them. I’ve moved everything around, different outputs from DSP, different rca’s, different channels, both speakers crackle. It sucks because I LOVE volume, clarity, and midbass but this isn’t going to work out lol. Tomorrow I’m going to swap in my pps6-4’s and see if the noise goes away. If so, somehow I managed to blow two seriously badass speakers with almost zero play time on them using good amps, crossovers, etc and nowhere near overpowering them. Kind of a let down to be so close yet so far. Also kinda makes me nervous on my 8” lid speaker choice since I also picked GZ midbass for them because I liked the way the 6.5’s sounded so much.
If u have the hidden antenna wires anywhere them speaker leads, they will possibly **** rape ur speakers. Ask me how I know.

Really? Hooked up or no? I have an antenna wire still but it’s not hooked up to the radio or to an antenna. I just never removed the coax. That’ll cause interference?

Working on a second project, since my RG won't be ready for Daytona. I am changing the front speaks on my Dyna from Tempesta's (with DB euphoria tweets and crossover) to Beyma coax, and adding PRV 8's to the bags with PRV horns. I had to mold in a 7x9x2 box to the bottom of the small, aftermarket fairing to have room for a Arc Moto 6.4, a CV B52, and a Dayton Audio DSP to fit in the tight *** fairing. It's ugly in there but I'm still wiring it up. The bags and fairing will still be quick release if I wanna strip it down.

No major winter builds going on here just doing some exploration/fabrication on some 8 inch wethead lowers. It is still a work in progress. I will know more once the bi-polar mother nature finally decides to let the weather change for the better in the Chicago area.

And I'm "done". Sort of. Put power to everything this morning after chasing the gremlin in my fairing. Can't find it and it disappeared. I pulled off every single piece of heat shrink, checked every solder joint, etc etc and found nothing wrong but the problem is gone. Those are the worst kind because since it went away on it's own, it may come back on it's own too.

Small issues, I'm hearing a little noise in my tweeters in the bags, still trying to track it down.

Have a turn on pop, no freakin clue where from. Remote out from head unit to remote in on DSP, using DSP to turn on all amps. everything shares a common ground/power so no ground loops, I'm lost. I'll find it somewhere.

Gotta get some new grills, my previous plan for grills failed miserably so I'll order some and some lid condoms this week.

Couple more hours of break in and I'll start trying to tune it. Very happy so far though, the 8's added a level of depth for rock that has been missing badly. Also, I did weather strip the lids, just got excited to have it off the jack and back together and took pics before I put it on lol. Now I gotta hold out a little longer, save up some more cash I don't mind blowing and have Lucky 7 paint it for me. The fender ext, lowers, and lids I painted myself using Harley paint codes. It's not "terrible" but I'm not a painter. I can airbrush lexan like a champ hahaha, I painted have the RC race car bodies in DFW but painting lexan with acrylic and painting 2 stage Harley paint are a weeee bit different. Looks good enough for a rider for now. Gotta decide if I'm leaving it like this or doing a tail and then I'll have all the red repainted so it all matches perfectly. When I bought this one, I didn't think I'd every really like the colors that much but my wife loved it so I relented (I was going to do blue this time around). I've somehow fallen in love with the colors though because I never see one like it so I'm sticking with it.

What DSP? If your using ARC, you can set the delay turn on to get rid of pop. That was the only way I found to fix mine.

I am having crackling noise from the tweets and horns. Depends on song on how bad it gets. I've done same as you with tracing wires and no luck.

I’m using the RF DSP. I’m sure I’m missing something somewhere. I may change it from remote on to voltage sensing on and see if that delays it enough.

Who knows, I’ll figure it out. Maybe. if not it’s an excuse to change it again Hahahaha.

I've heard the only fix for the RF's is to install a delay turn on. I've been seeing that (turn on pop) as the major complaint of the RF's.

LOL!!!

I had the turn on and off pop with the RF. I fixed it by returning it to Crutchfield and got the JL TWK88. Problem solved
