Default New Deck & Wiring

Good morning, I'm hoping some of you could help clear up and remedy my stereo issues, bike is a 2011 street glide w/ lowers. My concerns are many and as most of you I'm trying to get the most of of my stereo. The bike is on the lift and completely torn down for all new wiring, rebuilding, etc. Currently Have all Hertz speakers, HV 165 XL components's in the fairing (6.5 in speaker holes, tweeters in 2-gauge holes), SV165.1's in the lowers and MPX 690.3's in the lids. As of now, I have a biketronics interface module, but no radio.

I suppose that's my first question, which stereo to go with? I know this is been asked a ton of times and I'm just torn on which way to go, I don't need any crazy bells and whistles, just want to set-it up and ride. I had a Clarion prior which died and wasn't thrilled with it.

Second question is amp(s), on hand I currently have a 4-channel Hertz HDP4 as well as a 6-channel Focal FDP 6.900. I'd like to use one of these for my set-up, the Focal would be run 1-channel per speaker were as the Hertz i'd have to parallel a set of speakers. Any thoughts?

Last question (Sorry) i've read alot of threads related to DSP's, with the components I have do I need one?

I apologize in advance for the numerous questions, I've re-done this system many times in the past few years and it's never really been as great as I thought it should have been. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

if the Focal amp will fit under the hood, use it to run everything, my suggestion is not to skimp on a head unit,,,kinda like computers, garbage in garbage out for signal so buy a good one, recomend Kenwood Excelon, 702 or 998. you don't NEED a dsp, but with the level of stuff you already have, It would be the icing on the cake to dial it in for the best you can get. to me absolutely worth the money when mixing pa and non pa style speakers. With a good head unit and proper tuning, your set up should rock!!
if the focal wont fit up under the hood, use the hertz amp, and look for one of the better quality micro amps out there that can push 150-200 watts or more when bridged, then use that to drive the rear 6x9's, this is also another area where having the dsp comes in handy as you can take 2 inputs and split it to 6-8 outputs, depending on the unit. the ARC does 6 and the DSR1 and Dsi-2 do 8.

Thanks for the info Marco. I've actually looked into the Kenwood 998 already, which is on the top of my list. In looking up the suggested DSP's the Rockford DSR1 looks trick! And it looks like the way to go with bluetooth programming from an ipad. Also I was planning to mount the Focal amp in one of the saddlebags., which would leave room for the DSP.

The dsp that i like is the DD Audio Dsi-2, the RF is cool, but it has some limitations that I personally didn't like, but there are lots of other people using it and happy. the Dsi2 can also be bluetooth tuned if you buy the accessory blue tooth kit, but i like using my laptop, just me. The 998 has been discontinued by KW, but there are still lots of them out there at different stores and suppliers, so you should still be able to get one without too much trouble.
if you are going to mount your amp and a dsp in a saddle bag, you should be golden and bluetooth tuning shouldn/t be the selling point as you'll have easy access to the usb cabling. good luck and let us know how it sounds when you get it up and running!!
