Default Quick video of my sled progress.

Just got the fairing back on and checked everything out and figured I'd throw up a video really quick. Completely flat EQ, I've tuned NOTHING aside from setting gains and time alignment. I need to get a better mic to use with my ipad for the RTA app I use and then I'll do some pink noise tuning. 4 MMATS 601.8's, 2 GZCK 165 SPL's, and 2 DTX26t's. 1 SD 800.4, 1 SD 250.2, and a Rockford DSR1.

I've pestered Talwind, Marcodarq, Haze, Louie from Lucky 7 (local to me, where my amps came from), the guys at Wicked Kustoms (also local to me, where my mmats came from) and Chris from Garage Bagger Stereo until they're probably all tired of hearing from me hahaha. I bought stuff from everyone at one time or another during the process though so they weren't answering my questions for free (aside from Marco but he's got an order coming too, I was in the hotrod car industry for years and I understand time and experience aren't free so if I'm gonna bug you for advice, I'm gonna buy from you as well, just my way of doing things).

I've got it cranked pretty damn loud but through headphones it sounds pretty good. Overall, very happy with it. I'm still going to add 8's to the bags and 2 more tweeters in the bags before the Eureka Springs meet up. Hopefully get it tuned up pretty well by then too.

Sounds pretty good. I know portable mikes don't tell the whole story.

I would LOVE to have some JL 8.8s in my lids but I don't want to lose the tour pak and they stick out so far I'm pretty sure they would hit my wife's legs because she is so short, so I'll jut spank the 6x9s for all they're worth for now.

I thought about 6x9’s man but with the volume these speakers produce I don’t know what 6x9’s could keep up. I’m afraid the PA speakers would just drown them out.

I’ve got a set of GZ 8’s on the way, I just haven’t decided if I want to mount them or put them in the bags facing the wheel. My wife is 5’6” and she sprawls out over the back seat like it’s a lazy boy so I’m sure they’ll hit her legs too and cause me grief lol. But I also don’t really want to give up room inside my bags because I take trips on this thing.

I dunno. I may just bite my tongue and order a set of SBD copycat killers because they’ll make it so much simpler.

You have no need to lose the tourpack with the 8.8's. My wife is short as well and she doesn't touch the lids. Quick video of my sled progress.-photo452.jpgQuick video of my sled progress.-photo484.jpg

Thanks for those pics I'll make some comparisons. My wife is 4'9" tall so even with the raised floorboards her legs get stretched out a bit. I may try those adjustable pegs like you have and see if that gets her a more stable footing.

Do you find that those lids with the 8.8s take up any more room in the bag than regular 6x9s do?

I haven't noticed a loss of space. It'll still hold all the stuff we would normally cram in there on a trip.
Get your wife those adjustable pegs regardless. She'll thank you for them I guarantee.

Sounds good right now. Those 8's and the tuning will really wake it up I bet.

I just got to thinking that I already have problems with the saddlebag lid latches rattling if they are not locked with the Polk 2.7 ohm speakers. I can only imagine what they would do with a VO or 8.8.
