Let's not forget this bike is running a 4/0 Ultra flash with no LL's. I don't think the lifeline of that lil amp will be very long now that you've cranked the juice up on it.
Great, just when I find someone with Mmats in stock now I have to send them back and order some Jl 6.5 and a mx280..
what was was the model number of those 6.5 anyways? Did they have like a 150 spl efficiency rating?
It's pretty tuff to find a JL 6.5 speaker that's solid for the sled audio application. The C2 & C3 are no bueno. The C5 are barely ok. The ZR are ok.
Put that stuff in a cage and it all sounds damn good.

So why is that? Honest question. I bought a pair of C5's from Gann and paired them with a JL XD400/4v2 amp. They sound pretty good cranked up but have no fullness to them otherwise. The threw a set of Hertz HCX 165 in with pretty much the same settings, power etc. and they sound better at nearly all levels except when turned all the way up. I'm just trying to understand the "whys" of how this is. Thanks!
Im going to have to agree with T. I havent heard a good 6.5 JL on a bike yet. Put them in a UTV, boat or car and they sound great, just not a fan for the bike. Only speaker they make, IMO, for a bike is the 8.8.
I talked to dude who owns bike this morning. Hes going to keep Stinger amp and have me install it when he gets new HU.
Just to clarify, Im not saying his system sounds awesome with just that amp. I was surprised that it sounded that well with such low wattage. If it was my bike, Id replace everything in it.

I'm with bates here. This needs a line leveler. That Harley boost around 100 hz needs tamed.
