I've been caught a bunch of times in the rain. My lids are the rockford fosgate kit. haven't had a problem yet. A few times i was staying over night somewhere, and had to leave the bike out all night in the rain. In the morning i just opened my bags, dumped all the water out of the speakers and i was good to go

Again, the mmats 601 cx have a water "proofing" option added from the factory, though not sure what it is or how well it works...yet....and I think the RF speakers may have something similar.

I have the RF front and rear kits installed on my RG (including amp) and I power wash my bike weekly. Not to mention I've ridden through some pretty gnarly rain at speed, rocking out the whole time. Don't worry about it. It should be fine.
