Have been procrastinating on completing my budget system. Stock HK radio crapped out about 2 years ago and I still haven't replaced the HU..Been riding without tunes since then. The following is a list of the equipment I currently have:
- Cerwin Vega B52 amp (installed)
- Infinity Kappa's 62.i (6.5" coax) speakers (not installed)with no tunes since then.
I'm sure a few will say that this equipment is not the best or up to today's standards, but a couple of years ago, when I purchased these items, they were what everyone was talking about and installing. Speakers sat on a shelf, I installed the amp to replace a Hogtunes one.
Any recommendations for a HU that will work great with the components listed? I'm also looking to keep the handlebar controls and will need a HU installation bracket kit too, so any recommendation for those things would be great.
I was looking at Aquatic for the simplicity of plug & play but not sure if the cost for the model I'm interested in is worth it...here is my wish list for the HU:
- Bluetooth
- USB ready (for thumb drive and charging phone)
- Siruis XM capable/ready (just in case I decide to go this route).
- Waterproof or a cover (I do get caught and ride in the rain when necessary)
System will be installed in my 08 Road Glide - Thanks
That stuff will sound good the kappas are a great budget speaker and since you already have them use em. What about tour pak speakers? What is your budget?
Thanks for the replies so far...I do have a tour pack but have not decided on speaker pods for it yet...just sticking with the fairing for now...budget is somewhat open being that I was looking to purchase the high end Aquatic AV.
I’m just looking to invest in a good solid HU that will last and provide solid performance...doesn’t have to be the Rolls Royce of HU’s.
