Hey everyone, im brand new to the forum as of today and apologize if this has been talked about a million times. I'm looking to upgrade my audio system in my 18SGS like the title says. Currently I have a completely factory audio system. Im looking to upgrade the batwing in speakers, install lower fairing speakers and put some saddle bag lid speakers into my bike. My first priority is sound quality then sound volume. I mostly ride around town but do go on the highway often and take back roads. Im looking to have great quality and sound at 75mph and bellow. I listen to country, rock, and occasionally rap. Im not looking to spend $2000 if I don't have to. Ive looked at the Rockford system for a while and planned to buy that but with the research i have done most of you seem to say better sound options/systems exist. Please let me know what you guys think! Thanks in advance.
Stinger amp 240
4 mmats 601cx speakers 450
pair mmats 690cx 6x9 speakers 200
Front and rear bt 355 line levelers 200
You'll still either need to buy speaker lids or buy the rd speaker lid kit and cut your stock lids, which is the route I took. Then I sold the RF speakers and replaced them with the mmats. The RF kit will run around 450. They give discounts for forum members.
I said 2 pair of mmat 601s, but others may recommend another pair to match up with a pair of 602s on your front channel.
I'm planning to remove the factory lids and have HogWortz send me some paint matched lids with the speaker placements already cut out. I just bought their lower fairings that are paint matched with paint matched speaker boxes. We'll how they look when they come in. Is the RF kit you're referring to the rockford fosgate kit?

Here is what I have so far for a list of parts and part numbers, please let me know if i'm missing anything or if i'm incorrect on the parts.
(4) 6.5in MMats PA601cx speakers (with water treatment)
(2) 6x9 MMats 690.4cx speakers (with water treatment)
(2) Biketronics BT355 line leveler/pre-amp adapter (front speaker connection for both)
(1) Stinger SPX700X4 amp
(1) Stinger SVTK4681 amp install kit
Does this seem like everything? I see the stinger amp can do 125x4 at 4 ohms; doesn't thank mean it'll only work with 4 speakers and not 6 like what i'm planning to have/do?
I think you'll need front and rear bt355s if you want to have fade.
Someone more knowledgable can comment better on the stinger running 6 speakers. I think it should be fine, but don't wanna tell you something wrong. What I mean is yes, it will hook to 6 speakers fine, just not sure of the wiring strategy or how much power you'll be using.
You'll also need to have your stock radio flashed to recognize more than 2 speakers and the amp.
I'm sure I could make it work with the stinger amp, I want the system to work correctly and not get hot though. I could be wrong but attempting to hook the stinger amp up to 6 speakers instead of 4 could cause excessive heat which obviously can/will cause damage to the system which I don't want. I see MMats had a HiFi-6150D which is rated to have 150wrms x 6 at 4 ohms however its $1,300 and the dimensions are so large I don't believe it can be mounted atop of the radio.

Personally I'd run the 6x9's on a separate amp. If you want to get creative you can run the 8ohm version of the 601cx's and parallel bridge them on the 700x4. Gets you 50 more watts per speaker. Just a thought.
