and do I notice a really difference

The difference is YUGE !!!

That is given you match them with a quality speaker.

One step at a time. U absolutely need an amp. There isn't anyone I know on a sled that voluntarily/knowingly runs 45 watts per speaker.

Yes, absolutely. Do not think of the head unit as a way to give good power to your speakers. An amplified is what truly pushes them. This is what I have:
