OK, I know I read in here somewhere, about the best amp. But it was a while ago. So, lets update, only a little.....
What would be the best amp for; a 4 channel, 4 speaker system ? (best sounding)
Criteria would be; Must fit in streetglide fairing, would be nice to be "plug N play"
MUST use stock 6.5 boom hu.
Would be nice, but not a game changer, if it were FM friendly.
Enough power to feed Pro audio speakers. (just incase I can't shake this addiction)
MUST be great, reliable quality ! (don't want to buy another one ever again)

The best amp is the one that fits your speakers needs. There is no one size fits all amp. We need to know what speakers you're working with.
There is probably going to be numerous brands. I have Arcs and Mmats and looking at Fatials and Hertz right now. So, yes some will require a bit more power. With that said, I should be able to run a larger amp on the lesser quality speakers ? or not ? Loud is not what I'm after, but better sound quality. Since sound is subjective to one's hearing, I want to buy 1 amp that can run ANY speaker I throw at it. There will only ever be 4 speakers. And 1 amp. That's it. I may buy MANY sets of speakers along the way, but I'm trying to only buy 1 amp. (not including the 2 I already bought)
Hey, you guys started it.
IMHO, at that level you will need 2 amps and a dsp to get the best results. One micro for horns/tweeters and one big amp for woofers. I would suggest a amp with enough power to allow for both 4 & 8 ohm speakers in different wiring configurations. A SD1200.4 4ohm comes to mind since it allows good 8 ohm options and still has enough power to run some 4ohm wired in stereo. Several other options available as well.
What bike does it need to fit in?

Another option to check out is the MMats HiFi 6150D - 6 channel. price is steep but I imagine it could be set up to effectively power a variety of speakers...
