So, I don't have the voltage option on an iPhone either. It's either "high level" or "low level". I'm using high level.
I'll try to get my output voltages reset tonight and then play with the DSR1 to get it sounding right. But, so far just setting the crossovers and then playing with the gain for the tweeters vs woofers is making a pretty big difference.
I still have a barely audible hum when I turn the ignition on. As soon as the music starts, you can't pick it up anymore. I'm not sure what that's about either.

i just went and checked and when using high level inputs you dont get to choose which makes sense. Is there any reason you dont want to use low level inputs? Just curious
I didn't use LOC's because... I'm cheap (not really)? No, when I went to hookup the DSR1 I didn't want the BT 355 in there anymore, and I didn't have a set of LOC's. I did, however have some big ceramic 10k 5W resistors to trick the HU into thinking that there were speakers attached.
Do you think that LOC's would make that much of a difference? They aren't expensive, I could definitely pickup a set and give 'em a try.

i cant speak from experience because I havent used a resistor before but a Pac sni35 is cheap and easy
Nevermind... there's a huge system of thunderstorms moving in. I'll get it out tomorrow after I mow my buddy's lawn.
Guess the inclement weather gives me a reason to hang out in the bar and finish the gain adjustments and wire management tonight. My wife will be soooo excited...
I just installed my PAC SNI-35 and have a whole new set of weirdness happening.
I measured the voltage output from the SNI-35 to be 0.78VAC. So, I configured the DSR1 to low level and 1V max for input. I set the output voltage on the amp to 20 VAC and 40 VAC for HF and LF respectively. Then I reconnected all of the speakers.
Upon powering up, I have a strong hum. But I think I narrowed that down to the RCA between the DSR1 and amp. I don't have another set of cables on hand to test, so I'll order some and hope for the best.
The next thing that I notice is that even on the lowest volume setting above mute, it's really loud. I turned the gains all the way down and it's still loud. So, did I pick the wrong voltage from the SNI-35?
