Tuning 800W?
I measured the voltage output from the SNI-35 to be 0.78VAC. So, I configured the DSR1 to low level and 1V max for input. I set the output voltage on the amp to 20 VAC and 40 VAC for HF and LF respectively. Then I reconnected all of the speakers.
Upon powering up, I have a strong hum. But I think I narrowed that down to the RCA between the DSR1 and amp. I don't have another set of cables on hand to test, so I'll order some and hope for the best.
The next thing that I notice is that even on the lowest volume setting above mute, it's really loud. I turned the gains all the way down and it's still loud. So, did I pick the wrong voltage from the SNI-35?

This kit includes power for the DSR1 and connectors to go from your amp to your OEM pod connectors too.

Ive never heard of anyone going from the stock HD head unit to low level inputs into the DSR1.
I screwed around with it this morning, but I was getting aggravated that my "flagship" Android phone kept dropping the Bluetooth connection. So, I'll get back down there after my next chelada and try working with the DSR1 via my iPhone 8.
The plan is is to set the input to low level, 4V max. Then I think I'm going to just play a track that I like and adjust the gains on the mids and tweeters independently. The goal being maximal volume without distortion on the mids and tweeters that aren't overpowering and too bright.
Will report back after the next round...

My mids are crossed at 80 Hz @ 12 dB/oct and the tweeters are set to 2.5 kHz @ 12 dB/oct. I'm using the presets from AHB with the crossovers set as previously described.
I set the gain "by ear" for the mids and tweeters by muting whichever one I wasn't working on. I picked a couple of different tracks and adjusted until I thought I heard distortion, then backed down. In all likelihood, it was my ears distorting and not the speakers... these things are loud loud.
Also, I turned the "gain" on the DSR1 down a couple dB so that I had some room to adjust after I put the fairing back together. Figured it was safe to do that as long as I wasn't distorting. As best I can tell the gains on the amp are still less than they were when setting the output voltage.
There's still a slight hum, but it's definitely due to the RCA's between the DSR1 and the amp. If I move those cables around, the amplitude and frequency of the hum changes. I'll pickup a better set at some point and swap them out.
All in, I'm happy with how it sounds, and I think there's some room to get more out of it when I'm feeling less conservative.
