Hello to all, I've visited the forum many times for information and it has helped me considerably. I recently purchase a 2015 Ultra Limited that had Boom 2 fairing speakers, TourPak speakers and saddlebag speakers installed along with 3 amps. (I know Boom audio isn't the favorite on the forum but that's what I have). I bought a set of Boom lower fairing speakers and wanted to disconnect the tour pak speakers(because they are useless with my wife sitting there) and just extend the wire harness to the lowers. The problem I am having is there is only one set traditional spade type connector on the boom lower speakers and no place for the tweeter/mid two wire connector that is common to all the others. I've looked through all of Harleys wire diagrams and instructions are extremely vague. I know there is a way to hook this up but just not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Swap the tour pack speakers with the lowers? Then plugs will match. And they should sound better with tweeters in front of you. (if that's possible with boom) ,, sorry. Many on this "Audio" forum are not fans of HD's stock system. But if you like it, that's all that matters.
Ahh,, ok, I was under the impression you had speakers there already,, yes, the liquid cooled Harley's are a challenge there, I'll defer to someone who knows about those.
Might be overkill for what you're looking for? The H-D lower speakers can double as Stage I or Stage II speakers depending on how they're hooked up. They are also 4ohm. I take it they look like these?
Yes, that's the speaker but to hook up as stage 2 is the issue.
Not sure if this is helpful but here are the install instructions for these speakers which kind of go into how to wire if youre using a Stage I or Stage II system.
The amp for the tour pack speakers generally resides under the tour pack, so Im not sure if/how the wiring is going to translate to using that amp with your lowers. The install kit already mentioned is designed to use an amp installed in one of the saddlebags for the lowers but the distance difference is probably minimal.
I think the wire harness’ are very similar, I really didn’t want to buy another harness when I could extend the one I have. They both have the tweeter/mid wire connector that plugs into either the radio or the fairing speakers via a y plug or something. This is where I get lost. The instructions are extremely poor when it comes to wire connections to the lowers especially with multiple amps.. I was just hoping someone has been down this road before.
