Going on a long ride with about 5 guys but only want to talk to one.
I have half helmet - he has full modular.
What is the best option I have?
What is the cheapest?
I dont want to listen to music over the thing as we both have stereos we like to listen to while we ride but would like the option to communicate about stops and turns. One of us would be in front of pack the other in the rear - dont expect we will separate too much.
oh yeah - Ill be on 14 Limited - he will be on 2019 Goldwing
Thanks,.

I would go with a Cardo paired system. One of the older versions. Should be able to find the pair for well under 200 bucks.

Just throwing this out there Ragman, does your buddy on the GoldWing already have a CB? If so you could get a used CB module for your Ultra and go that route. I know it ain't what the cool kids use these days but quite often the range is better than the helmet mounted setups.
Thanks or starting this thread, I am considering a comm system as well and nice to see input from current users. Anyone have experience with Lexin and their systems?
OKMick I found some good info from Fortnine's reviews of budget communication systems. This video had some good budget choices if you're looking to save some cash. The little yellow Motorola unit is an interesting option if range is of primary concern.
Thanks, Hoyt. Not so much a matter of budget, I heard about Lexin for the first time in videos posted by the 2LaneLife guys, it is the system they use. By the way, if you haven't seen their ride videos they are well worth checking out. Unlike most they don't just post endless views of riding down the road with blaring music. They stop, talk about where they are, things to do, eateries, etc.
