Just rode up to a RF dealer and got a front only flash, budget setup I have been running for awhile was cv b54 running Infiniti kappa 62ix with line levelers. The speakers played about like everyone else's experience I read, screaming shrill highs and nothing else except broken garbage at 80mph. Out of the box settings on line levelers. In prep for a dsr1, second amp and new speakers I went and got a flash, and the ride home was a totally different experience. The highs were mellowed out, the mid was clear and powerful, and the music sounded like it should.
For anyone out there with line levelers I can't recommend getting an EQ flash enough. I may not have bought the new setup if I had tried this first. I know I'll be happy with the rears and upgrading to yellow baskets up front so so moving forward, but if anyone else is out there with a budget system running line levelers, go get the rockford flash asap!
Default setting on the line levelers is very conservative and does not sound good. At one time it was the only choice to curve the EQ from the boom HU as no one had the tools to flash. Today I recommend getting a flash and be done with it. Yes you can adjust the LL but for less $$ gat a flash.

did you remove the line levelers? i removed mine after i got mine flashed so much better, and ya i spent a year adjusting the LLers, could never get them quite right to my ears. sounds great now.
I did remove the line levelers when I got home, but even the ride home with the flash plus line levelers sounded infinitely better than just like levelers. I actually removed the whole setup a few days later and dropped in another amp, more speakers and a dsr1, which is what I got the eq flash for. Discovering that it much higher sound quality than the line levelers was an accident basically.
