Default Thinking of upgrading the 6x9s in my lids

Howdy all,

Now that I've gotten my amp and wiring situation straight on the back half of the Ultra I've been thinking of upgrading the 6x9s in my lids. From what I have gathered recently the new Hertz seem to be the go to option these days:
SX 690 NEO SPL COAXIAL

I'll give you the rundown of the system on the back end just so y'all can get the picture. I've got AD 6.5s in the tour pak pods fed with 150 watts each. These things give great mids and highs. For the 6x9s in the lids I have an SD 800.4 four ohm amp being tuned by my DSP. Given this info do y'all think those Hertz would be the best way to go? If so who do y'all recommend I get them from?

I almost forgot to mention water resistance is mandatory. I pulled the Polks out and put the Rockfords back in because the Polks were letting water into the bags through the tweeter pole.

As always thanks a lot for the time and advice.

For what it’s worth, I installed them a few weeks ago with the AHB conversion kit. I’m running them off an SD 800.4 bridged about 300w crossed at 80hz. Although I’m still learning DSP tuning, I think they sound pretty awesome and I really haven’t done much to them. Others can probably give more specifics on tuning them and such, but I know they’re weatherproof and I’m really stoked with them so far.

Hoyt I have run a ton of different 6x9's in my lids and some sounded good while others have not at least to my old ears. I suggest looking into 8" lids instead of 6x9's because they will provide better lows and over all better sound. I will probably never run 6x9's again since i have 10's in the bags and now compression drivers in my lids. My problem with going 8's is getting the paint for my bike as HD still hasn't released it yet and probably never will. That's why I put in the RF lid kit. Just a thought.

If you do keep the 6x9's then those sx neo's are just damn good and will sound good off the 800.4 bridged. Just be conservative with the gains.

Thanks for the info Hoss. I really don't think I will get into the 8" lids because my wife is so short that her legs almost touch the stock size lids even with raised floorboards.

If I go with the new Hertz any preference as to vendors?

I dont have any vendors with hertz. I just always look at who has them on sale. Others may chime in but I personally dont have any.

I get most of my stuff from NVS. 10 min down the road from where I work. Usually has everything in stock and Carlos is a great dude to deal with.

Same here. Absolutely love them, especially good "compromise" given that I need the bag space for travel.

I have them crossed at 70Hz with a steep slope though I am still messing with my overall tune as I learn a bit more.

I may be able to get a hold of some at a good price, especially if you swing by and pick them up, or we meet up somewhere. I'm about 1.5 hrs away.
I also have some Euphoria ES7 I've wanted to try but have nothing here to try them in. Your welcome to try them out
