So, Ive had these Mmats PA601.4 coaxial speakers in the fairing of my 2021 Road Glide for a few days and they are just a bit bright for my liking. They are really efficient and my SounDigital 800.4 amp really powers them well at 150 watts per channel. I just preferred the warm sound of the H.A.T. Unitity speakers that I had previously although they were noticeably less efficient.
Looking for advice on a warmer sounding, efficient 6.5 coaxial speaker. I dont feel like rolling the dice again on my third set. Ive seen that a lot of people are using the Yellow Baskets and the Hertz Neo speakers. Would either of there fit the bill or should I consider something else? Thanks.
Mmats would be the last speaker on earth I called bright. Ive ran them harder than 150/channel in a Jeep but I used a DSP to tone them down a bit up top when you really pour the power to them.
Very nice speaker and will take some abuse but they do need some tuning or less power.
Just a quick update. I brought down the amp's output to 20v per channel. In theory, this is 100 watts per channel which is well below the rated output of the amp and the rating of the speakers. I also set the HPF at 80 hz on the amp. These two adjustments resulted in a much more pleasing sound. In retrospect, my initial goal was just louder audio than the stock system without breaking the bank, Mission accomplished (although, I did add lid speakers which weren't part of the original plan.) Thanks to those that responded.

Now you might can bump up the watts a bit but also move the HP up a bit as well. Still have some warmth, but get a little more sound...if you need it. Even at 100 watts, they probably get plenty loud enough.
As said, always good to hear results from questions asked here.
