Fastsoup the SD amps are great on power, but spew a lot of RF interference. If you put two of them in your fairing I'd bet you will lose your FM reception. I just thought I'd mention that in case it is important to you. If you want to keep FM reception an Arc or Stinger amp would be the way to go.

If you don't use FM that 200 watts available for the GZs would be pretty good. I don't know about the tour pak pod speakers though. You can't really expect much bass from those stock pods so I don't imagine they would need a ton of power. I have 150 watts going to my pods and with the frequency capabilities of my speakers (low end starts at 120Hz) that is really overkill for me.

Yes the FM reception means nothing to me...when I'm on my bike it's all tunes! I have been thinking about that a lot, and how the GZ might be fine with 147w and the Hertz with the same in the TP...I might just go with the 800.4.

But then I think that 2 400.4 (extra $40) and you get more power...but you're right...more power than I'll need.

I did an install with same speakers (except Hertz went in lowers). I did 2 different amps. And older 800.4, 2 ohm ( so 200w per speakers). I then used a 800.4 EvoX. There was a noticeable difference to me and the bike owner.
It's the GZ's needing power that's the issue.

On the better sounding setup how many watts were you pushing to the GZs? Was it the older amp with 200 watts (I'm assuming the newer 800.4 was pushing 147 or so to them)?

Nice...good comparison. So with that said, clearly the choice would be 2 400.4 bridged to each set.

200w vs 130w I think is what I had them set to.
Now a set of mmats pa601cx/'s work great off of 130 watts.

It's better to have to much and not use, than not have enough. It's just easier on then entire system.

Well that's that then...realistically, 2 400.4 will comfortably fit inside the fairing...so for the extra $40, I would say it's a better buy than a 800.4

When all hooked, I plan on crossing the GZ @ 80hz and the Hertz Neo's @ 120hz. The head unit is a Kenwood KMR-M328BT - would I set the EQ to flat on the deck?
