There are a couple regulars on here that will help me out. I just need to get back with them. My plan for now is to get back to stock. Then go to the MNG in June where I can talk to a lot of you guys face to face, listen to some systems and get some good suggestions. I was going to do that in the first place and then talked myself into my current situation. I'll get it rectified next week.
I heard the Soundz a couple years ago at a outside event at the dealership. Like was previous said, loud but shrill. I dont know what it costs, didnt ask. It didnt matter anyway, I wouldnt pay $200 for it.
One of the most epic audio threads on here was from a few years ago involving a Soundz system. Wam was the guys name I believe. Hilarious, absolutely worth the time to read it
The kit I purchased is proven combination of components for my application , built to order , set -up , tested and tuned with my head unit before being shipped to me. So it's much different than say buying a pre-packaged off the shelf Rockford kit, or a kit that sends you components based on a price point that aren't matched well.
Once I saw the price of the Rockford kit it was a no brainier to go the route I went.
I'll chime in here... I just had a Soundz Carbon system installed yesterday. 6 Speaker System. (Fairing, Lowers, Lids) I can go into a long story of why I thought that was the right route for me, but I won't bore you. The Dealer I talked to (who came to my garage to do the install) said if I was not 100% satisfied with it, that he'd take the system out, refund my money and put the Boom II stuff back. Well... I'm 95% sure he's going to be putting my Boom II stuff back. I'm not impressed. I did get the new Boom GTX HU installed too and that will stay... but as of right now I'm pretty sure he's getting a call. Is it better then the Boom II stuff.. Yes, it is.. Is it what I paid for it better?? No it is not. As the OP said.. It's loud, but it's more of a annoying loud. Not a nice clean crisp loud. Mind you, this is all sitting in my garage listening playing with it. It's winter here and 15 degrees out. This is my warning to anyone considering this system. Listen to a bike that has it installed first. Something similar to what you are looking at getting. If you can't do that first.... Well proceed at your own risk. Luckily I worked out a deal with the dealer/installer that could tell I was hesitant... that he'd replace and refund me if I wasn't happy. He obviously thought I would be. He said if he swaps my system, I'd be the first one in the hundreds of installs he's done.
I did go with the 5x7's in the lids, but they still had to cut the basked out of the CVO lid to fit that 5x7 speaker. So If I get it taken out, I'll still have that basked cut out. My OCD is going to bother me on this too...!
Sorry to hear your experience and didn't like the Soundz system you had installed. Most PNP systems like that will have that outcome and/or have low volume output while riding.

It serves me right for not listening to my gut.... I will meet ya at the MNG and get this figured out.
ok, the customer came and hooked his phone up and played the system for me. Leaps and bounds better than hat i heard to start with. The system sounds much better than the first time, but to me for the cost it still will not be my choice. There was a lot volume and it had a lot of punch, just not a lot of bottom.
And yes you will need to take bike out side to listen with bike running and with it off to make necessary adjustments plus with different songs. When in garage playing the system the midbass , bass may be over powering the highs but once it's outside it could be the opposite.
So I'll tell you why I did and not saying my reasoning is right or wrong..........
Not ripping you at all, its more complex to get good sound out of a bike than people make it out to be. My point really was that I have NEVER heard a PNP system that sounded Good, thats all.
