Just checking voltages to be sure install goes right. stock HK HU ---> 4ch LOC --> 2x EVOX 400.4 bridged driving 4 speakers (1 amp each pair - 200W per speaker). Speakers are GZCF 6.5SPL.
Have a 1000Hz 0db soundtrack with T/B flat (middle) and volume at 3/4.
I'm curious as I'm getting 6 VAC at the HU (input to the LOC) and then get 1 VAC on the output of the LOC. Seems low. Is this normal for LOC output (gains on LOC turned all the way up)?
Perhaps all that matters is I'm not clipping at 28.3 VAC.
Solved I guess. The 6VAC out of the HU is ok, and so is the 1VAC out of the LOC. Dialed in the amplified output at 28.3 VAC and speakers sound good. Next addition is the DSP. Can be a bit frustrating at times, but feels good when you get the problems resolved. New install had a bad amp and bad speaker out of the box. Weekend install is now on week 4. Oh, the fun, good thing I have 2 bikes I guess.

Try to give As much information you can as you can provide when asking for help. That will help get a more precise answer.
Which LOC are you using? There are multiple LOCs that will work but have a different high to low level conversion. Some are 2 to1, 6 to 1 and as high as 20 to1.
Which DSP are you installing? Some DSPs work better with high level input versus low level(rca).
Thanks for responding. I first had AXXESS AXLLOC4M-80 but had some blinker noise and someone on this forum said the PAC LP7-4 helped him solve the problem so I purchased that one as well. To be honest they were both similar in stepping down the voltage to near 1 volt with the pots turned all the way up. As I said, ultimately the amp produced the output of 200W per channel (28.3 VAC). So I guess no big deal, reading both the specs on the LOC I thought they would have gone to 4VAC max but they did not.
My final speaker came in today (dead from factory) so the system is up and running with the stock HU, 2 EVOX 400.4 bridged and 4 GZCF 6.5SPL (2 fairing 2 rear pods). It's very loud and clear. So loud if you want you can't hear the Rineharts at all.
I did have some technical questions that still need an answer but I might have figured it out. GZCF have a crossover at 5000Hz and a range from 50HZ to to 20kHz so 1) setting the crossover on the amps with a HP should be set low to around 50Hz to pick up the lows and not 80Hz like I've read on here but I'm not sure, just speculating and 2) I bought the RF DSR1 but not installed yet as it's probably not needed since the GZCF have the crossover hard wired into the speaker. There's nothing I can really do and their not bi-amped. So I'll probably not install the DSR1 on this system.
I learned alot from this install and mostly there's not alot of space in that batwing and 2) be patient.
Thanks to Chris at Garage Bagger for his patience with his customer.
BTW Babyboy, I'm in south Naperville/Plainfield area.
