Default SD paper weight

I got a bad batch of the SD 800x4 this is the second one that started this sine wave ground noises this one started last week after warranty expired.
Its in the LP/F/HP switch and only 3/4 channels I ran in to the same issue on he other one they are mounted in side the bags and I was told that SD improved the internals to handle vibrations on bikes.

so I put my taramp 800x4 back in until I find something else. I got -/:k with the other one a local shop sent mine in for warranty and this been 8 months now still nothing no return calls (he probably didn’t do) a dam thing with it and I bought a new one from him to replace that bad one so I have a paper weight
at least I one to use to mock up a bracket to mount in the hd-95 inner fairing. These SD 800x 4 now$450.00.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles with yours. I know they (SD) went through some quality control issues, but thought they worked through it.

Keeping fingers crossed I took this SD 800x4 apart looking around for broken soldier joint because the noise sounded like a ground problem so with my fluke
multimeter I had 1 prob on the ground terminal and testing along circuit board ( I took board out) of chassis but after looking on the edge of the board there was a copper wire showing

the film was worn off from it rubbing on chassis so I put rca cover on and did a continuity test on chassis and ground terminal I had a beep so I put Tesla tape over bare copper line and redid
beep test No beep.

I might do a bench test on amp or put back in saddle bag and test.

Tesla tape

Bare copper rubbed from chassis that is a ground
