I hate to do this, but with the CVO Limited squared away audio-wise for a while, I've been trying to research options on upgrading the mediocre 2022 Gold Wing Tour I bought this spring, while integrating with the stock head unit and maintaining the stock look. Seems the stock system includes 4.xx speakers front and rear, and apparently J&M is about the only vendor out there with a upgrade package with 5.125" speakers all around with an amp. Not wanting to waste my money on his junk again, I am trying to come up with my own options.
So far, I have found one place that makes adaptors to allow 5.25" speakers - But depth is still a question. However, I'm not seeing many options out there from the usual top speaker vendors around here that I have experience with. (GZ, MMatz, DB, etc) I'm thinking of getting 4 - 5.25's with an EVOX 800.4 and calling it a day. I know PRV has some 5" but they aren't coax, so I'd have to deal with remote mounting tweeters somewhere which I'm trying to avoid.
Any thoughts on some decent 5.25 coax with decent efficiency and range, for what they are?
Thanks guys.

I know we always say no no to Hogtunes, but their 5.25 speakers have worked well for me when I was limited on an install.. Over priced perhaps, but work good for the purpose intended.
Also, I have seen Infinity Kappa's on Amazon and wondered how they'd work in the 5.25" size.
Thanks guys - I have put a few in the grouping of possible test candidates, but I'm hoping to narrow this down. If I go to Crutchfield there are a ton of 5.25's. I'm seeing the JL C2-525x's, Focal PC130's and ICU 130's, Polk MM 552's, Kappa 53XF, and then it gets down to some of the budget options from RF, Kicker, Alpine, MBQ, etc. I was leaning towards the Kappa's, but gosh, the magnet end of those are big. But to Jack's point, yes I'm working on getting some intel on the max depth and width at that depth. It's alot of work to take these plastic Goldwings a part, so I'm hoping to only have to do it once. I will however look into the Cicada's - Thanks!
I was hoping that a couple of our local installers might chime in to help me narrow this down to some top contenders to avoid wasting a lot of dough. This is going to be my winter project it looks like so I'm trying to get my ducks in a row.
Thanks!!!

You may want to check with Jay Ford, at Kustom Wings in Planto, Texas. Jay does motorcycle audio, but I believe he also specializes in Goldwing upgrades. https://kustomwings.com/
I just got done installing a Hertz 2000W SP4.900 Amp along with 4 Hertz SX165NEO speakers in my 2017 FLHTK. I'm using the factory GT radio with a flash to flatten out the EQ curve. (From Volunteer Audio.)
It's not a cheap system by any stretch, but it sounds fantastic!
I would contact Jay @ volunteer Audio and ask what he has for that bike set up.
Personally I would stay away from running non water proof / resistant speakers in any bike application.
