Default Ground Zero GZCF 6.5SPL Issues

Has anyone here had the issue of the GZCF's cutting out at mid / high volume running off a SD amp ? I'm running a SD 400.4 bridged to one pair of GZCF's specifically , tuned through a HKI mini DSP .

Some folks would get some noise or weird oscillation's but mine would cut out for a second or 2 then come back on , I had to back the volume down to make it stop or it would do it every 5 or 10 seconds once I got about a notch from 1/2 volume on my flashed GTS.

I did the mod , cutting the lead on the black coil , seems to have resolved the issue , also voids the warranty but what do you do.

Anybody else had this happen and do the mod ? Has it eliminated the issue for you ?

had the same problem on 2 pairs that i bought with a SD amp....I talked to GZ rep and was told it was the amp....talked to SD amp rep....he told me it was the speakers....then I tried another amp that i had which was a BT4180 and the speakers worked great, returned the SD amp and called it a day

I have the GZs. No problems with them. I run a Cicada amp. Love it. I did have trouble with the SD amp. Threw it away.
